Job Description:
Position Summary
Provide instruction. Teach and assess lecture and laboratory courses, contribute to department work, engage in professional development and contribute to shared governance obligations including accreditation. May be assigned to teach day or evening classes at the main campus or outreach centers. 
Key Performance Indicators
  1. Timely, accurate preparation of syllabi
  2. Adhere to department guidelines with use of textbook/materials required
  3. Timely, accurate submission of attendance and grade records
  4. Timely, accurate submission of assessment findings
  5. Engagement in classes on time and for the full allocated time
Essential Functions
  1. Teach and assess lecture and laboratory courses that may include Electrical Systems, Industrial Maintenance Technology, ManufacturingProcess, Quality Control, Tech Math, Industrial Safety and others based on the faculty member’s qualifications and student enrollment needs. Faculty may be needed to teach day or evening classes at the main campus or outreach centers as well as online.
  2. Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the rules and regulations of the college.
  3. Adhere to department guidelines.
  4. Arrive at the classroom prior to the scheduled class time.  Faculty members shall hold classes and/or laboratory sessions as scheduled unless dismissal or other arrangements are approved by the appropriate administrator.
  5. Ascertain that every student, teacher, and visitor wears an industrial eye protective device when participating in or observing any of the following classes at Mineral Area College:
  6. Vocational, technical, industrial arts, chemical, or chemical-physical shops or laboratories involving exposure to the following:  hot molten metals or other molten materials; milling, sawing, turning, shaping, cutting, grinding, or stamping of any solid materials; heat treatment, tempering, or kiln firing of any metal or other materials; gas or electric arc welding or other forms of welding processes; repair or servicing of any vehicle; caustic or explosive materials.

Experience
Education:
Must possess or be able to obtain instructor certifications such as Manufacturing Skills Standards Council - MSSC: Certified Production Technician (CPT) Certified Logistics Associate/technician (CLA/CLT)
OSHA authorized instructor preferred or have five years of general industry safety experience.
Work Experience:
Teaching/training and assessment experience preferred.
Manufacturing equipment proficiency required, including proper waste disposal.
Proficient use of instructional technology required.
Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with online and distance learning pedagogy preferred.
Knowledge of learning management systems preferred.
 
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Working in a professional educational environment this position requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, light lifting, grasping, talking, seeing, hearing and repetitive motion. Knowledge of, and adherence to, proper safety protocol.
