Pembroke Hill School seeks a caring, growth-minded educator to join its early childhood team as a faculty assistant. In partnership with a lead teacher, the faculty assistant builds community and encourages children to play, investigate, problem-solve, and construct new understandings in a welcoming, joyful environment. Faculty assistants support children’s growth and development by preparing materials, setting up learning spaces, and leading individual, small, and large group experiences that build on student interests, motivations, and wonderings.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, our faculty and staff believe in an image of the child as capable, curious, and eager to learn and make sense of the world. Faculty assistants contribute significantly to the educational program by serving as positive role models and guides for children, facilitating healthy and productive relationships, and assisting in implementing student-centered curriculum and classroom routines.

The individual will demonstrate a passion for working with children aged 2-5, an understanding of their developmental needs, and a dedication to professional learning and growth.
Pembroke Hill seeks to fulfill our mission by recognizing that diversity, belonging, equity and inclusion are integral elements of school and community life. Our mission-inspired goal is together, cultivating each to be a global thinker and valuable member of the PHS community poised to acquire the academic and life skills that make a significant difference for all.
